NEW! COLORADO E-BIKE TAX CREDIT
As of April 1, 2024 a new state of Colorado e-bike tax credit is available to all Coloradans. This is your opportunity to receive a $450 discount off of a qualifying a new e-bike purchase (at the point-of-sale). Not all retailers are participating; BUT WE ARE. Here is what you need to know:
- Proof of residency is required
- License, bill, bank statement, etc.
- Each person can only receive one discount per calendar year
- Purchases made on the website, whether shipped or ordered for online pickup, must be paid in full. You will receive a refund of $450 once you show proof of residency.

HOW DO I GET A REBATE VOUCHER?
The State of Colorado and the City of Denver releases a limited number of e-bike rebate vouches to the citizens of Colorado and/or Denver. The e-bike voucher provides the recipient with an upfront discount on the purchase of an e-bike or e-cargo bike. There are three different types of rebate vouchers available.

PROCESS FOR GETTING AN E-BIKE REBATE VOUCHER
When the application portal opens, visit www.denverclimaterebates.com or https://energyoffice.colorado.gov/ebike-rebates and register as a new user. Within 10 minutes, you should receive an email verification code from APTIM. If you don’t see the email, check your spam and junk folders or request another code. Please note only the most recent code requested will be valid.
Denver E-Bike Rebate Program:
Once you have your verification code go back to www.denverclimaterebates.com complete the online application. You will need to provide your name, address, contact info and upload proof of residency and income-qualified documentation if applicable. Your application will be reviewed within 14 business days. If approved you will receive another email from APTIM with an e-bike voucher voucher code.
Colorado E-Bike Rebate Program:
Applicants will be randomly selected from the first application round to complete their application for a rebate. Randomly selected awardees will be notified via email on Tuesday, August 22. If awarded a rebate, applicants have 48 hours to upload the required proof of residency and income-eligibility. Applications will be reviewed within 10 business days. If there are any issues with an application, the applicant will be contacted and will have 10 calendar days to fix the issues (e.g., provide additional or different documentation). Applications must be approved before rebates are issued. Failure to provide any of the required application information will prevent processing of the application. HOW DO I QUALIFY FOR AN E-BIKE REBATE?
Find the qualifications needed to participate in Denver's E-Bike and E-Cargo Instant Rebate program and Colorado's E-Bike and E-Cargo Bike Rebate program below.
To be eligible for the standard e-bike rebate voucher you must be at least 16 years of age and a resident of Denver, Colorado. You will need to provide document(s) to prove your physical address and the documents must be dated within one year of application. Here are examples of documents that you can use: Colorado Drivers License, Computer Generated Bill, Bank Statement, Pre-Printed Pay Stub, First-Class Mail. You can find a complete list of eligible documents on Denver’s website.
Colorado's E-bike Rebate Program:
To be eligible for the standard e-bike rebate voucher you must be at least 18 years of age, a resident of the State of Colorado, and income-qualified. You will need to provide document(s) to prove your physical address and the documents must be dated within one year of application. Here are examples of documents that you can use: Colorado Drivers License, Computer Generated Bill, Bank Statement, Pre-Printed Pay Stub, First-Class Mail. To be eligible for the Income-Qualified E-Bike Rebate you must be 16+ years old, a resident of Denver AND your household must be below 60% of the state of Colorado’s median income OR or below 200% of the relevant federal poverty level, OR below 80% of area median income. You will need to provide at least one document to confirm that your household meets the income requirements. For a list of eligible documents visit Denver’s website.
Colorado's E-bike Rebate Program:
To meet the income-qualifications for the moderate-income rebate, your household income needs to be between 80% - 100% of the area median income (AMI). To meet the income-qualifications for the low-income rebate, your household income needs to be below 80% - 100% of the area median income (AMI). For more information visit Colorado's Website.
To qualify for the Adaptive E-Bike Rebate you must have a disabling condition that significantly impairs your ability to ride a standard e-bike. You will need a written verification from a Professional as proof that you require an adaptive e-bike. Unlike applications for the Standard Rebate and the Income-Qualified Rebate, Adaptive Rebate applications can be submitted at any time. INSTANT REBATE VOUCHER AMOUNTS
The rebate is redeemed instantly at purchase and can cover the retail cost of the e-bike but not taxes or shipping. One e-bike per person.
Denver E-Bike Rebate:
- Standard Rebate: $300
- Income-Qualified Rebate: $1,200
- Additional $200 is available for the purchase of an e-cargo bike.
- Adaptive Rebate: $1,400

E-BIKE ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for e-bike voucher redemption, your e-bike can be a Class 1, Class 2 or Class 3 e-bike — see below for classification details. Your e-bike must have two wheels, the motor must be 750 watts or less, it cannot be gas powered, and it cannot be a full suspension mountain bike. There is no minimum or maximum purchase price.

To be eligible your e-cargo bike must be designed to carry a rider + one or more passengers or designed to carry loads that are heavier or bulkier than a normal bike can handle. The frame must be extended and must have a published load carrying capacity of 100+ lbs.
