It's All About the Snacks | The Best Bike Ride Snacks and How to Bring Them Along

FOOD DRIVES OUR RIDES

We love riding bikes and we love snacks. Fortunately for us, riding and eating go hand in hand. Our team of experts shared their pro-tips for the best ride-ready food, how to carry it, and much more so you can keep your energy up and enjoy the ride.

WHEN TO EAT AND DRINK

Although cycling nutrition and hydration are not one-size-fits-all, we use a general rule of thumb. Consume 100-150 calories per hour. We think solid food is best, but energy drinks and gels work too. Drink one 20oz bottle of water every hour too - even when it is cooler weather.

Tip: Don’t wait until you are thirsty or hungry to drink and eat.

Hit Those Snack-pots

Plan ahead and let us help you with proven and effective cycling nutrition like bars, gels, and drink mixes. This is the best way to insure you have energy and endurance for your ride. In a pinch, gas stations are a great resource to satisfy your needs and cravings.

HOW WE CARRY 'EM

Add more carrying capacity with cycling-specific apparel, baskets and bags and for your bike.

Snack Packs & Bags

Carry more in comfort with the right gear. Top tube and handlebar bags make it easy to grab snacks while on the move. Saddle and frame are great for longer rides. A hydration pack serves all of your needs, especially when you need lots of water.

Add a Bike Rack or Basket

Now if you really want to go big with the amount you can carry, then we’d point you in the direction of a bike rack or basket. You have several options for bags or panniers that fit snug. You’ll get the largest square footage for snacks, drinks and whatever your heart may desire for the ride.

Nothing Wrong With More Pockets

No we’re not talking about dad's cargo shorts, these pockets are even better. With a quality fit and materials geared towards optimum performance, you’ll find extra pockets on jerseys, outerwear and shorts or bibs. Pockets integrated into your cycling apparel give you the ability to continue riding while you grab a bite.
