2022 Year in Review

By Evan Lee

The year 2022 has been a wildly fulfilling ride here at Wheat Ridge Cyclery!

In all measurable numbers, in every aspect of the business, 2022 was the biggest year in company history. We’re up to 100 staff members. Store sales eclipsed our wildest dreams.  Online sales have become a large part of the business. The service department repaired and upgraded many thousands of bikes. The list goes on and on.

The year began with us still managing supply chain disruptions and spotty inventory. Nevertheless, we achieved all-time sales records in the first quarter as the world rebounded from the pandemic and reveled in life on two wheels. It is so good to see so many people taking up cycling and staying with it! Presently, we have pretty much returned to pre-pandemic normalcy and are well ready for the coming 2023 season.

On May 18, we opened a second location near C-470 and Ken Caryl. The location has proven a great convenience to those customers residing in the southwest corner of the metro area, and we are pleased to be able to provide goods and services to them. We run delivery vans between the two locations daily – never a problem to get what you need without driving up to HQ.

We welcomed 34 new staff members this year – all dedicated to providing you with every resource for your cycling endeavors.

We’ve brought in numerous new and exciting product lines in apparel and accessories, such as 7Mesh, Rapha, Fjallraven, Oveja Negra and more.

Next August will be the 50th Anniversary of Wheat Ridge Cyclery’s founding. Through all those years, there have been many highlights yet one highlight outshines them all:

You!

Our customers are the absolute best. Generations of families have shopped WRC, and when a grandparent comes in for a grandchild’s first bike, we are reminded of how remarkable it is to be able to be here for you. We treasure each of you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your years of support and encouragement.

Happy New Year!
